Nomadi was the most international Finnish dance company in 2004
- an overview to the numper of performances and audiences According to the annual dance statistics by the Finnish Dance Information Centre, in 2004 Nomadi had the most performances abroad (24) of all Finnish dance companies and theatres. During 2004, Nomadi performed in Belgium, Canada, Germany, Finland, France, Monaco, Nicaragua and Venezuela. Nomadi produced four new premieres: Decisiones by Alpo Aaltokoski, Yellow Happiness and Without the moon or sun by Jyrki Karttunen and Musta by Arja Raatikainen. In alltogether 53 performances by Nomadi the total number of audience was 14 853, which is the most largest in the ten years history of Nomadi. The average attendance per performance was 280, which is well above the average of all Finnish dance companies (162). Helsinki-based artists' production company Nomadi has managed to act on a wide geographical range. The expansion continues during 2005 and 2006. The double-bill (Flow and Lucid Dreaming) by Alpo Aaltokoski and Arja Raatikainen will be widely touring in Europe. Jyrki Karttunen will create a male quartet Human Imitations in Oulu, Finland and, in the end of January, start touring again with his all-ages hit Fairy in France. Tiedotearkisto || Archive |
